Rule me out, says Jordan

Joe Jordan has reiterated that he is keen to remain Portsmouth coach when the new order is finally established.

Chairman Milan Mandaric could be poised to start dialogue with former Southampton manager Gordon Strachan as he seeks a successor to Harry Redknapp.

For the moment Jordan and executive director Velimir Zajec are carrying the load and doing rather nicely.

A point was secured at Liverpool last night from a 1-1 draw, just as it was at Newcastle on Saturday with the team coming from behind.

Jordan is delighted with the way the players have responded in difficult circumstances following the departure of Redknapp – now with Southampton – his assistant Jim Smith and coach Kevin Bond.

However the former Scotland striker will not be joining the queue to replace Redknapp. “I do not want to be considered,” he said.
