Canada lined up for Windsor friendly v N Ireland

Northern Ireland will play Canada in a World Cup qualifying warm-up game at Windsor Park on February 9.

The IFA has been seeking opponents for the date after being rejected by new Scotland manager Walter Smith.

Northern Ireland boss Lawrie Sanchez will use the game as preparation for the World Cup qualifier against England at Old Trafford on March 26.

Northern Ireland drew 1-1 with Canada in the last meeting between the countries at Windsor Park in April 1999.
