Petrov gives Bhoys boost against Milan
Influential midfielder Stilian Petrov declared himself fit hours before kick-off to give Celtic a major boost for their final Champions League Group F clash with AC Milan.
The Bulgarian international captain sustained an ankle injury in the weekend win over Hibernian but his rapid recovery meant Martin O’Neill could name the same line-up, with Didier Agathe and Stephen Pearson still out.
Celtic needed to win to earn a UEFA Cup place and victory would give AC Milan top spot in Group F.
But the odds were stacked in favour of the in-form Serie A champions, with over £100million of talent watching the likes of Andriy Shevchenko and Paolo Maldini from the bench.
