Taylor joins Foxes on loan

Leicester manager Craig Levein’s search for a new goalkeeper has proved successful with Arsenal keeper Stuart Taylor joining the Foxes on a month’s loan.

Leicester manager Craig Levein’s search for a new goalkeeper has proved successful with Arsenal keeper Stuart Taylor joining the Foxes on a month’s loan.

Levein had a chance to watch Taylor in action when City’s reserve side drew 1-1 with the Gunners’ second string at Barnet’s Underhill ground on Monday evening.

And the Walkers Stadium boss hinted Taylor’s move to the Midlands could be made permanent should the 23-year-old impress.

Levein told the club’s official website: “Stuart will be joining us initially on loan for a month which gives us the opportunity to look at Stuart and gives him the chance to find out whether he’s comfortable here.

“He comes straight into the squad for the game against Wigan on Saturday although whether he starts or not is a different thing.”

The move for Taylor was prompted by first-choice Ian Walker falling victim to a long-term knee injury and deputy Kevin Pressman’s string of errors which have cost Leicester two goals in their last three matches.
