Kelly ruled out of north London derby

Tottenham’s left-sided jinx has struck again with Stephen Kelly and Goran Bunjevcevic both out of the north London derby against Arsenal.

Irish Under-21 star Kelly suffered concussion and a broken thumb during Tuesday’s Carling Cup victory over Burnley, a game he started after Bunjevcevic had undergone emergency surgery after suffering internal bleeding into his shin.

Erik Edman played 60 minutes for the reserves but is unlikely to be considered, though Anthony Gardner has recovered from a foot injury and might fill in again at left-back.

Thimothee Atouba is still suffering from knee ligament damage and Jol will decide whether to start with Reto Ziegler at left midfield or name all three strikes, as he did against Charlton.

With Sean Davis still out injured, Michael Carrick could make his first Premiership start for Tottenham.

Provisional squad: Robinson, Pamarot, Naybet, King, Gardner, Edman, Carrick, Pedro Mendes, Davies, Jackson, Ziegler, Taricco, Defoe, Keane, Kanoute, Brown, Barnard, Sousa.
