McLeish would welcome Ferguson return

Rangers manager Alex McLeish has admitted he would love to re-sign Barry Ferguson.

The Scotland midfielder left the club he had supported and joined as a boy to sign for Blackburn last year.

But life in England has not gone as smoothly as Ferguson might have wanted and McLeish revealed he would welcome his former captain back to Ibrox.

He told Rangers News: “I can’t forget the contribution Barry made to this club, particularly in the year when we won the treble together.

“I do things for football reasons and if I thought everyone was behind it - or at least the majority were, Barry is a player I would love to have back here.”
