Zaragoza striker: No Liverpool contact
Real Zaragoza striker David Villa has denied that Liverpool have made any contact with him even though a representative of the Anfield club watched him against Sevilla at the weekend.
Liverpool will be without the services of French forward Djibril Cisse for several months after he suffered a broken leg in the 2-2 draw at Blackburn on Saturday.
Former Valencia coach Rafael Benitez, now at Anfield, has been linked with a move for Real Madrid striker Fernando Morientes, and more recently Zaragoza’s in-form Villa.
Villa said: “I am happy because I have a contract until 2008 and until anyone says something to the contrary I will be at Zaragoza until that year.
“So far nobody has said anything and I am very calm because I am used to this kind of situation as it has happened to me before.”
The youngster broke into the first team last season, and scored the winning goal in the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid.
Villa scored twice at the weekend as Zaragoza bounced back from their Copa del Rey defeat to Nastic to beat Sevilla.
