Dublin City duel to stay in top flight

Dublin City tonight play another round of survival for their premier division status when they visit the Brandywell to take on Derry City (7.30pm).

The Vikings, 10 points adrift at the foot of the table with just five games left to play, must win tonight to keep their place in the eircom League top flight, although next-placed Shamrock Rovers can seal their neighbours' fate anyway with victory in their re-arranged game at Waterford United on Sunday afternoon.

Roddy Collins' side could hardly have chosen a harder place to visit in their bid to stay alive. Their 1-0 defeat at home to Cork City last Tuesday night was the first time Stephen Kenny's side had conceded in five games.

Kenny has left-back Sean Hargan absent once again with a foot injury while Clive Delaney and Gareth McGlynn are both serving bans.

Dublin City, meanwhile, will most likely stay unchanged from the side which narrowly lost to champions Shelbourne last weekend in the last minute of their top-versus-bottom encounter.
