Manchester City manager Kevin Keegan will write to referee Steve Dunn to apologise for his conduct in the players’ tunnel after the defeat at Newcastle on Sunday.

However Keegan, who was today charged by the Football Association “for abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour” towards Dunn, stands by comments he later made to the media in which he branded Dunn “a homer” after the game.
