Dowie set to make changes

Crystal Palace have injury concerns over a trio of key players for the short trip across south London to face local rivals Charlton.

Top scorer Andy Johnson (ankle), defender Fitz Hall (knee), and midfielder Michael Hughes (hamstring) are all likely to be rested for the Carling Cup clash.

Italian striker Nicola Ventola is still recovering from a knee injury while Neil Shipperley has had an injection in his knee while doctors assess the extent of his problem.

Danny Butterfield is back after a hamstring injury and returns to the squad, while strike trio Ivan Kaviedes, Dougie Freedman and Sandor Torghelle are all vying for a starting place.
