Scottish Football Association president John McBeth insists Berti Vogts will not be sacked whatever happens in Moldova.

Scottish Football Association president John McBeth insists Berti Vogts will not be sacked whatever happens in Moldova.

The Scotland manager has come under increasing pressure over the weekend after defeat in Saturday‘s World Cup qualifier against Norway.

That leaves the Scots with just one point from their opening two games at home and they board the plane for Chisinau today knowing that anything less than a win against Moldova is not acceptable.

But SFA chief McBeth insists they have no intention of relieving Vogts of his duties.

He told the Scottish Daily Mail: “We will honour our contract with Berti.

“We would never break an agreement with a manager. We’ll always honour that.”

When quizzed if that meant Vogts would remain in the post whatever happens on Wednesday, McBeth replied: “That will be up to him.

“There must be some effect on him from the abuse people are handing out. You would have to be made of concrete to survive that.”
