PSV soar clear at top of table

PSV Eindhoven continue to blaze a trail in the Eredivisie after a 3-0 defeat of Groningen.

A Kurt Elshot own goal after five minutes started the rout before USA international DaMarcus Beasley added another after 32 minutes.

John De Jong’s second-half strike sealed the victory for PSV who lead the division from five points from Ajax and six from third-placed Feyenoord although both clubs play games in hand tomorrow.

At Tilburg, home favourites Willem II held off a late rally from Vitesse to prevail 3-2.

A first-half hat-trick from Martijn Reuser, two coming from the penalty spot, put Willem II firmly in command before late goals from Nick Hofs and Igor Gluscevic for the visitors from Arnhem set up a tense final conclusion.

NAC Breda won 3-2 at home to De Graafschap who are still winless in the Eredivisie.

At Enschede, hosts Twente lost 3-2 to Roda JC.
