A late Milan brace caused Celtic further heartbreak in the Champions League this evening.

Andriy Shevchenko had put Milan ahead after just eight minutes and they dominated the first half of the match.

But Celtic had several fine chances in the second half before Stanislav Varga equalised with a powerful header on 74 minutes.

With Milan faltering and Celtic looking to capitalise, disaster struck when substitute Filipo Inzaghi managed to poke home on 89 minutes.

Andrea Pirlo rubbed salt in Celtic's wounds with an injury time free-kick.
