Campbell set to play

Sol Campbell is set to play in the Arsenal defence for tomorrow’s Champions League clash with Rosenborg in Norway.

The England centre-back showed no ill effects after returning from an Achilles injury against Manchester City on Saturday and is available for selection.

Midfielder Robert Pires (foot) could feature in Norway but Brazilian Gilberto Silva looks set to face a month on the sidelines because of a back problem.

Manager Arsene Wenger said: “He will have at least one month without any sort of physical contact. It’s a big blow, he’s a real team player.”

The Gunners will also be without non-flying Dutchman Dennis Bergkamp, so Jose Antonio Reyes and Robin van Persie are in contention to deputise.

PROVISIONAL SQUAD: Lehmann, Almunia, Taylor, Lauren, Hoyte, Campbell, Cole, Clichy, Toure, Cygan, Senderos, Vieira, Edu, Fabregas, Flamini, Reyes, Ljungberg, Pennant, Henry, van Persie.
