Derry make defensive switches

Derry City will make defensive switches tonight when they take on fellow strugglers St Patrick's Athletic at the Brandywell (7.45pm).

Former caretaker manager Peter Hutton is suspended for the match having accumulated four penalty points, but his successor as boss Stephen Kenny can recall Hutton’s fellow defender Clive Delaney thanks to his recovery from a hamstring problem.

Derry are second bottom in the premier division, with an eight-point advantage over basement club Dublin City in the single relegation spot and a game in hand over the Vikings and Shamrock Rovers one place and a point above them.

St Pat’s are two points ahead of Derry having also played a game more and they will be without midfielder Keith Fahey and defender Des Byrne, who were both sent-off during Monday night’s 3-1 defeat to champions Shelbourne.
