Rooney guilty of motoring charge

Teenage soccer sensation Wayne Rooney has been found guilty of failing to produce driving documents, it emerged today.

The 18-year-old England and Manchester United striker was driving a BMW X5 in Liverpool on May 6 when he was pulled over by police.

He was ordered to attend a police station to produce his driving licence and insurance certificate but failed to do so.

He was summoned to Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on Monday this week but did not attend and was found guilty in his absence.

He will be sentenced at the same court on October 4.

Rooney’s agent Paul Stretford declined to comment.
