Angel back for Villa

Last season’s 23-goal leading scorer Juan Pablo Angel will return to the Aston Villa starting line-up for tomorrow’s home Carling Cup clash with QPR.

Angel has slowly been building up his fitness after suffering a summer knee problem and Villa boss David O’Leary is hopeful he can complete his first 90 minutes of the campaign.

Midfielder Lee Hendrie is back in contention after making a rapid recovery from a calf injury which ruled him out of the weekend draw at Norwich.

Mark Delaney will again deputise at centre-back for Martin Laursen who today underwent knee surgery.
