Sanchez set to make changes

Northern Ireland manager Lawrie Sanchez looks certain to ring the changes tomorrow for the World Cup qualifier against Wales in Cardiff.

Central defenders Stephen Craigan and Mark Williams struggled badly in the defeat by Poland and may be dropped.

George McCartney looks likely to be recalled after suspension and could link up with captain Aaron Hughes in the heart of the defence.

Mark Clyde is a contender for the right-back role while Tony Capaldi seems certain to retain his place on the left.

Keith Gillespie, Steve Jones and Paul McVeigh are also pushing for places in the starting line-up as former Wycombe boss Sanchez weighs up his options.

Northern Ireland (probable): Taylor (Birmingham), Clyde (Wolves), A Hughes (Newcastle), McCartney (Sunderland), Capaldi (Plymouth), Gillespie (Leicester), Johnson (Birmingham), Whitley (Sunderland), M Hughes (Crystal Palace), Quinn (Willem II), Healy (Preston).
