Dyer returns to Newcastle side
Newcastle midfielder Kieron Dyer returned from the cold for tonight’s Barclays Premiership clash with promoted Norwich.
The 25-year-old, banished to the bench even after a humble apology for refusing to play on the right side of midfield against Middlesbrough, was handed a way back into the starting line-up thanks to a minor knee injury to Jermaine Jenas.
That, however, was the only change to the team which lost 1-0 to Tottenham on Saturday for a game which kicked off five years to the night after Ruud Gullit dropped Alan Shearer for a derby defeat by Sunderland.
Norwich boss Nigel Worthington made three changes to the side which lost 2-1 at Manchester United at the weekend as Marc Edworthy, Paul McVeigh and new signing Gary Doherty replaced Thomas Helveg, Mattias Jonson and Mathias Svensson.
