Newcastle are without conjunctivitis victims Lee Bowyer and Andy O’Brien for tomorrow’s Premiership opener at Middlesbrough.

In addition, manager Sir Bobby Robson has been forced to rule out Jonathan Woodgate, Darren Ambrose and Steven Taylor after injury while Shola Ameobi (back), Titus Bramble (hamstring) and Laurent Robert (ribs) are all doubtful.
