Lansdowne a sell-out for Shelbourne game
Shelbourne's Champions League clash with Deportivo La Coruna is a Lansdowne Road sell-out, the eircom League club has announced.
Shels take on the Spanish side in a final qualifying round first leg, transferred from their Tolka Park home to the national stadium in a bid for a bumper payday against one of European football’s best sides.
Manager Pat Fenlon expressed reservations about the switch, believing the tight confines of Tolka would better suit his side’s prospects against Javier Irureta’s star-studded line-up.
The club’s top brass certainly seem to have been vindicated in their financial ambitions, with the last of the 24,000 available tickets being snapped up this morning.
