Newcastle agree terms with Carr

Newcastle have confirmed they have agreed terms with Tottenham for the transfer of Republic of Ireland full-back Stephen Carr.

Carr is expected to travel to Newcastle in the next 48 hours to undertake his medical and finalise personal terms.

Carr has made 226 Premiership appearances and scored seven goals and, since making his international debut on in 1999, has won 30 full caps for the Republic.
