Drogs dream of taking top spot
Paul Doolin's Drogheda United can go top of the eircom League tonight with a three-goal winning margin over Shamrock Rovers at United Park tonight (7.45pm kick-off).
The Drogs are in flying form having dispatched Derry City 4-0 last week and title rivals Cork City 2-0 on Monday night while manager Paul Doolin is celebrating a two-year contract extension which will keep him at the Louth club until November 2006.
The new deal for Doolin puts an end to speculation linking him with the managerial vacancy at Bohemians and just to keep the good fortune rolling Drogheda’s way, United have a clean bill of health for tonight’s clash as they seek a fourth consecutive win.
Rovers will welcome back leading scorer Stephen Grant from a one-match ban, most likely at the expense of David Mooney.
