FA chief wants swift end to Eriksson inquiry

Football Association executive director David Davies has welcomed the decision to hold an inquiry into last week’s incorrect statement about England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson.

The FA are investigating how they came to issue a press release denying that Eriksson had an affair with a female member of staff when subsequent revelations have shown it to be true.
