Another block in the Cork City fixtures logjam was removed today when the eircom League set a new date for the Premier Division game with Dublin City.

Pat Dolan’s side, which tomorrow night plays for the second time in 48 hours against Munster rivals Waterford United, has been left behind in domestic competition due to their success in the InterToto Cup.

The Leesiders are having to play five games in 14 days and the backlog has caused friction between the club and the FAI with both parties issuing statements defending their own stances on the matter this week.

The pressure was eased a little today, though with the clash against the Vikings, originally scheduled for July 2, now re-set for Turner's Cross on Friday, August 20, filling a blank weekend in the Cork City fixture list.
