Gronkjaer deal agreed, claim Sevilla

Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has claimed his side have reached an agreement to sign Jesper Gronkjaer.

The Chelsea winger’s performances for Denmark during Euro 2004 have made him a target for several clubs across Europe, including Birmingham.

But it is Sevilla who claim to have tied up a deal to sign the pacy winger.

“We have reached agreement with Chelsea and with the player for him to come here next week,” Del Nido told Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet.

“We only want players here who want to be here and I hope the agreements that have been reached will be respected, but if it does fall though a player who is just as good or even better will come here.”

Sevilla are making a big push to strengthen their squad in preparation for playing in next season’s UEFA Cup.

Striker Carlos Aranda and winger Fernando Sales have already arrived at the Sanchez Pizjuan and more new arrivals are anticipated as the club looks to make significant progress next term.
