Portugal through to Euro 2004 final

Portugal made it into the final of a major tournament for the first time in their history after beating Holland 2-1 in the Euro 2004 semi-final in Lisbon.

Cristiano Ronaldo headed in Deco’s corner to put Portugal in front in the first-half before Maniche’s spectacular long-range curler early in the second gave the hosts a cushion.

However Jorge Andrade’s own-goal put the Dutch back in it and made for an uncomfortable last half-hour for Portugal.
