Gomes and Andrade fitness boost for Portugal

Portugal striker Nuno Gomes and centre-back Jorge Andrade are back in contention for Wednesday’s Euro 2004 semi-final against Holland after shaking off injury problems.

The duo both sustained ankle injuries during their side’s quarter-final victory against England but have returned to training.

Boss Luiz Felipe Scolari is expected to keep faith with the starting line-up that beat England, although Pauleta is pushing for a recall at the expense of Nuno Gomes.
