Inverness Cally win promotion on appeal
Inverness Caledonian Thistle have succeeded in their bid to win promotion to the SPL at the second attempt after winning the backing of 10 top flight clubs.
The Highland side failed in their initial bid to groundshare with Aberdeen next season at an initial meeting of the 12 SPL clubs earlier this month when they fell one vote short of the eight votes needed to succeed.
Hibernian and Hearts called for the issue to be re-examined at a second meeting at Hampden Park today and the result was a 10-2 vote in favour of Inverness after just one hour.
The decision means bottom side Partick Thistle face relegation although they may appeal against the decision to the Scottish Football Association.
