England coach Steve McClaren tonight insisted that all good managers listen to their players as he dismissed suggestions of a player revolt.

There have been suggestions the players forced Sven Goran Eriksson to abandon his diamond formation in favour of a flat-four midfield ahead of last night’s 3-0 defeat of Switzerland.
