Draw means Shels move six points ahead
Goals from Glen Fitzpatrick and substitute Jamie Harris brought Shels back from the dead as they moved six points clear at the top of the table.
The chances came thick and fast in a furious first half, with Drogheda having edged in front at the interval.
That came on 19 minutes when Gavin Whelan’s 20-yard shot took a deflection off Thomas Morgan to spin past keeper Steve Williams and into the net.
Andy Myler then blasted home to make it 2-0 within three minutes of the restart to finish a super move.
Fitzpatrick started Shels’ recovery when volleying home on 64 minutes.
Harris then earned them their deserved draw when looping home a header from David Crawley’s cross seven minutes from time.
