Danes hold their own in first half

Denmark were more than holding their own at half-time in a goalless draw against a disappointing Italy in both sides’ opening match of Euro 2004 in Guimaraes.

The Danes proved dangerous throughout the half, though Italy came close to taking the lead just before the break, only to be denied by goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen’s spectacular saves.

The second half has just kicked off.
