United confirm Queiroz is returning

Manchester United have confirmed Carlos Queiroz will return to the club as assistant manager July 1.

Queiroz is back at Old Trafford only a year after leaving the club to take over at Spanish giants Real Madrid.

He was sacked by Real last month after the club ended the season without a trophy for the first time in five years.

Real were only fourth in the Spanish Primera Liga, meaning they will have to qualify for next season’s Champions League, and Queiroz’s reign ended with an unprecedented five-game losing run.
