Beckham lashes out at allegations
An angry David Beckham today spoke publicly for the first time about allegations concerning his private life.
The England captain, who is on a training session with his international team-mates in Sardinia, admitted he had contemplated refusing to talk to sections of the media following the coverage given to the allegations.
However, Beckham claimed he had an āobligation to talk to the fansā when he appeared before the media today.
He told BBC Radio 5 Live: āIāve made it clear that with two papers the way I and my family have been treated is an absolute disgrace because at the end of the day Iām a nice person and loving husband and father.
āI realise as England captain I have an obligation to talk to the fans and thatās why I do it.ā
His comments come just days after he cast aside rumours over his future and said he would stay in Spain with Real Madrid.
He also revealed last Thursday that his wife Victoria and their two children would be moving to a new home in the Spanish capital.
Their eldest son Brooklyn will be enrolled at a Spanish school and Victoria will be continuing her career from her new home.
Beckham has dismissed allegations that he was unfaithful with former personal assistant Rebecca Loos as āludicrousā and with Malaysian-born model Sarah Marbeck as āabsurd and unsubstantiatedā.
