There was little to choose between Crystal Palace and Sunderland as the first leg of tonight’s Nationwide First Division play-off semi-final failed to produce a goal at Selhurst Park.

Neither side created a real clear-cut opening during the 45 minutes.

Kevin Kyle dragged his early shot wide and Julian Gray blasted Palace’s best chance of the half over the bar.
