Dutch duo target Old Firm farewell
Ronald de Boer and Michael Mols today vowed to beat injury to sign off at Rangers with a victory at Parkhead.
The Dutch strikers will leave Ibrox in the summer after four and five years respectively.
De Boer has missed the games against Dundee United and Motherwell with thigh injuries but is winning his battle to be fit for the final Old Firm clash of the season on Saturday.
He said: “I hope to play against Celtic one last time and I’m confident I can do it.
“It’s about time we got a win over them and from my point of view it would be great to sign off with a victory at Parkhead.”
Mols is further ahead of his team-mate as he recovers from a groin problem sustained at Tannadice.
He told the Rangers News: “We all want to give the fans a victory over Celtic and as it will be my last chance to win at Parkhead as a Rangers player I would love it too.”
Meanwhile, Rangers manager Alex McLeish has blasted another of his first-team stars.
Captain Craig Moore has issued a threat to quit Ibrox if he is unimpressed by their summer signings.
McLeish, who has already hit back at claims from Emerson that he has been made the scapegoat for Rangers’ poor season because chairman David Murray signed him, said: “It doesn’t help anyone for the team captain to come out with this sort of stuff when he is recovering from an operation in Australia.
“I would much rather that he focused his energy on returning to Ibrox 100% fit and ready to play at a very high standard for us week-in week-out.”
