Athlone Town deducted three points

The eircom League has today announced that Athlone Town's appeal against a three-point deduction handed out to the club earlier this season has failed.

Town will be deducted the points for playing an unregistered player (Michael McCann) in their eircom League First Division fixture v Monaghan United on March 19.
