Chelsea appeal Desailly European ban

Chelsea will find out later this week if Marcel Desailly can play in their Champions League semi-final second-leg clash with Monaco after appealing against his three-match European ban.

The France defender was suspended “for assaulting Fernando Morientes” after video evidence showed him elbowing the Monaco striker during last week’s first leg.
