Blues without Gudjohnsen

Eidur Gudjohnsen is set to miss Chelsea’s Premiership clash with Everton at Stamford Bridge tomorrow due to illness.

The Icelandic striker, a key figure for the second-placed Blues in recent weeks, has come down with a virus and is expected to miss out.

Midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron has suffered a muscle spasm on his return after his back injury and will be rested.

Claude Makelele (knee) is still out, as are long-term absentees Emmanuel Petit (also knee), Carlo Cudicini (hand) and Glen Johnson (ankle).
