McFadden has 'no regrets' over Everton switch
James McFadden insists he has no regrets about moving to Everton even though he has spent most of his time in the reserves at Goodison Park.
The 20-year-old quit Motherwell in the summer for a move to the Barclaycard Premiership after emerging as one of Scottish football’s brightest prospects, only to struggle to make the top team.
But the highly-rated forward showed he can still be a class act when he came off the bench to score a superb solo goal for Scotland against Romania earlier this week and he is hoping that display will win over Everton manager David Moyes.
McFadden told the Scottish Sun: “I don’t regret a thing and I love it down at Everton. I’ve been working hard in training every day.
“At Motherwell my name was one of the first on the team sheet and not playing is something I’m not used to. I’ll learn though because every player has to deal with this and I’m still only 20.
“I’m enjoying life at Everton despite not playing and hopefully the Scotland game and goal will help pick things up again. I can honestly say I’m not getting any stick from fans or my manager at Everton.”
