Hearts defender Alan Maybury is the surprise choice in the Republic of Ireland side which line up for the friendly against the Czech Republic at Lansdowne Road tonight.
Maybury comes into the side at right-back to win his third cap – his first since 1999 – as a replacement for Stephen Carr, who returns to Tottenham with a knee complaint.
Gary Doherty wins his 23rd cap but his first in defence as he partners skipper Kenny Cunningham in the centre, while Nottingham Forest’s Andy Reid is given his chance on the right side of midfield.
