Robson signs new deal

Newcastle today confirmed that manager Bobby Robson has signed a new contract and will remain in charge until the end of the 2004-05 season.

The 71-year-old, who has been working on a rolling 12-month deal since he took over from Ruud Gullit at St James’ Park in September 1999, has now reached an agreement on a fixed-term contract.
