Redknapp's short of numbers

Portsmouth have been rocked by a massive injury and availability crisis ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup fifth round replay against Liverpool at Fratton Park.

Pompey boss Harry Redknapp is without 14 first team players and is being forced to pitch young striker Sebastian Olszar in from the start alongside Aiyegbeni Yakubu.

Forward trio Ivica Mornar (groin), Teddy Sheringham (torn hamstring) and Patrick Berger (knee) are all out – Berger is undergoing an operation by top surgeon Dr Richard Steadman in the USA today.

Midfield Amdy Faye serves a one-game suspension while forward Lomano LuaLua and defender John Curtis are cup tied, joining long-term casualties Steve Stone, Tim Sherwood, Hayden Foxe, Svetoslav Todorov, Vincent Pericard, Gary O’Neil, Deon Burton and Eddie Howe on the sidelines.
