Saints chairman denies Hoddle return

Southampton chairman Rupert Lowe today denied Glenn Hoddle has already been chosen as Gordon Strachan’s successor as Saints manager.

Lowe was responding to press reports claiming Hoddle is about to return to Southampton, whom he managed for 14 months in 2000-01 before an unsuccessful stint at Spurs ended when he was sacked last September.
