Goma signs new deal at Fulham

Fulham defender Alain Goma has today signed a new contract which will keep him at the club until 2006.

The 31-year-old Frenchman, who joined for £4m (€5.8m) from Newcastle in 2001, was due to come out of contact at the end of next season, but has signed on for another campaign.

He told the club’s official website, www.fulhamfc.com: “We’ve been in talks for a while.

“The club wanted me to commit myself and I was happy to do that – I think we can achieve many good things here.

“I like the way the club is managed, we’ve got some good players here so the future looks good.

“I’m delighted to have signed, I’m very happy at the club and I’m very proud to be able to play for Fulham for an extra season.”
