Notts Forest sack manager
Nottingham Forest have tonight sacked manager Paul Hart after the 1-0 home defeat against Coventry, according to Sky Sports News.
Forest lie in the bottom three of Nationwide League Division One after failing to register a win in 14 league matches.
Hart steered Forest to last season’s play-off semi-finals where they narrowly lost out to Sheffield United.
Forest confirmed Hart's departure by announcing it on the club's website www.nottinghamforest.premiumtv.co.uk.
Chairman Nigel Doughty said: “It’s always regrettable when it comes to making decisions like this one but we feel that some action had to be taken.
“It’s not a decision that has been made in haste. We feel we have given Paul every chance to try and turn things around but, for one reason or another, the improvement we have all been desperate to see has not been forthcoming.
“We have 17 League games remaining this season and it is imperative that we do everything possible to improve results and stabilise our League position.
“We will be looking to appoint a manager as soon as possible in order to move the club in a forward direction once more.”
Hart had been in charge for two and a half seasons after taking over as manager from David Platt.
Before that he had worked for four years as academy director with the club.
