Southampton still do not have a manager lined up to take over from Gordon Strachan when the Scot leaves the club at the end of the season.

Strachan has said he wants to take a break during which time he will have a hip operation.

Asked by Sky Sports News if a new manager was in place, Saints chairman Rupert Lowe said: “Not at the moment. It’s something I will be working on with board colleagues.

“We are concentrating on tonight’s game [friendly against Bayern Munich] and then Manchester United on Saturday.”
