Defending champions Cameroon opened their African Nations Cup campaign with a 1-1 draw with Algeria, but it is Egypt who are looking good at the top of Group C by virtue of a 2-1 win over Zimbabwe.

Cameroon, outperformed by Senegal at the 2002 World Cup, are looking to re-establish themselves in the eyes of the world as top dogs on the continent as they bid for a fifth African Nations Cup and a third in a row.
