Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann and Southampton striker Kevin Phillips have been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association following their spat during the Gunners’ 1-0 Premiership win at St Mary’s on December 29.

Lehmann has been charged for an incident at the end of the match when he threw the ball at the back of Phillips’ head.
