Moreno considers switch to Bolton

Atletico Madrid striker Javi Moreno is weighing up the pros and cons over a possible move to Bolton amidst reports in Spain that the two clubs have agreed a deal.

Moreno yesterday revealed he was aware of the interest from Premiership side Bolton and would consider his options if a firm approach was made.

“I know there is interest, but that is all,” he said on Atletico’s official website.

“I am considering what I have to do. I have to think about it because it’s important if I move. No one has spoken to me, nor to my agent.

“They (Bolton) have spoken to the club, and the sporting director of Atletico Madrid (Toni Munoz) told me.

“It is clear that because I have a family, I have to think carefully about the move.”

Moreno was outstanding at Alaves in 2000-1 when the Basque side reached the UEFA Cup final on to lose on a golden goal to Liverpool.

The striker then joined AC Milan but played only sporadically at the San Siro and returned to Spain in June last year.
